Stalybridge Celtic manager Steve Burr has shared his thoughts on the pre-season fixtures and potential transfer activity - here is what he had to say.

He said: "I am pleased with the fixture list, the fact we have managed to arranged friendlies against two league sides is always positive.

"All the teams should provide competitive matches, as there is a nice mix of clubs in there. I usually like to have a couple of weeks prep before kicking off but the chance to play Oldham was one you can't turn away."

On summer signings, he said: "We're doing a lot of hard work at the moment behind the scenes to bring in the players we want to build a competitive squad at the right end of the table.

"I've been in several meetings over the past few weeks to make sure the players we bring in are ‘A' right for the club and ‘B' fit in with our wage structure.

"We won't be held to ransom so it's important we find the right deal which ultimately suits both parties. I don't want the fans to worry when they see other clubs signing 3 or 4 in a week.

"There's plenty of time left and I am confident that we can get this club back to where it belongs."
