The boss looks back on last night's final and ahead to the summer.

Steve Burr has spoken on Stalybridge Celtic's narrow loss to FC United 1-0 in the Manchester Premier Cup final last night and what he has planned for the summer.

Following a tight game his side came runners up despite having plenty of the ball. The manager is now looking ahead to a busy summer of planning as they enter a new division.

He said: "Considering we had eight players out last night I thought all in all we played reasonably well but I am still disappointed because to come away empty handed.

"You always want to win these games but we can take positives from it as it was a much better performance than the last match.

"We had plenty of possession and played some good football but unfortunately we just lacked that cutting edge.

Turning his attention to the summer and the season ahead Burr shared his thoughts on his plans for the future.

He said: "There will be big changes over the summer as to be expected. We want to bring a freshness to the squad and build a competitive one which gives us the chance at bouncing straight back.

"We want to be at the right end of the table and be a team the people of Stalybridge can be proud of.

"I want to thank the supporters who have continuously turned up week in week out to support the club through this difficult period. We want to have more nights like when we beat Fylde and Kidderminster and I am determined to make that happen".
