Some of our adult PAN-Disability team players were special guests at The Priory Tennis Club, just down Mottram Road from Bower Fold, yesterday for a hour and a half Coaching Session, with the Clubs professional Tennis Coach, Andy Perry.

Despite the constant downpour, the team thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed session, more so than their Ability Counts League fixtures at Aquinas College in Stockport the night before!

Our thanks go to Andy, along with Dennis and Trevor from Priory Tennis, for being fantastic hosts and allowing us the opportunity to try a different sport.

Priory Tennis Club are a small and friendly tennis club just down the road from Stalybridge Celtic FC adjacent to the entrance to Cheethams Park.

Facilities include - 4 floodlit all weather courts 3 of which were brand new in 2016, a junior mini-court, a practice wall, a fully refurbished club house with bar and kitchen which can also be hired for private functions, Professional coaching and opportunities for adults and juniors to play league tennis.

Tennis is a great way to exercise, keep in shape and stay healthy whilst making new friends and having fun.

It doesn't matter if you're a beginner, someone who has played in the past and fancies a return to tennis or if you currently play elsewhere - they have a variety of membership packages available to suit.

For example adult daytime membership costs approximately £2.00 per week. Junior membership [up to 11 years old] provides discounts on coaching sessions, holiday camps and also enables a parent to play with their children at the club and is available for less than 60p per week.

Coaching sessions for juniors are held each week after school and on Saturdays. Tennis camps are held to coincide with school holidays. A great way to keep the children happy and occupied!!!!

The courts are open all year round and professional coaching [individual and group] for all ages and abilities are available.

The club have social tennis on Thursday evenings from 7pm and Saturday afternoons from 2pm and also hold Seniors [50+] social sessions on Monday and Friday mornings from 10am.

You can go along to any of these sessions three times absolutely free of charge before deciding whether to join.

Alternatively if you would like more information or want to have an informal look around the club at any time (and maybe try out the courts by hitting a few balls) please ring Dennis Hilton on 07587-148579.
